Spain: World Cup Soccer

When soccer enthusiasts look at the teams of the World Cup, there are many things they disagree with. However, few would disagree that Spain contains the most talented players around. Íker Casillas is one of the most powerful goal keepers in the world and will be starting this year. Carles Puyol is one of the best back line guys in the business and will be helping Spain at the back during the World Cup tournament this year. These are only two of the great players on the team, but they are worthy of mentioning no doubt.

The thing with Spain and the World Cup is that the team always cracks under the pressure. It is unsual that a team would possess the amount of talent that Spain does and continuously let everyone down with their lacking performances. Everyone always predicts them to do well in the World Cup and they never do.

So, if Spain can get mentally prepared enough for the World Cup this year, they may be able to shock the world and take it all. But if history does repeat itself once again, there is little chance the team will get too far. It is a classic example of a team that has all of the components to be champions, but is not mentally and emotionally prepared for the challenge. So, it will be interesting to see if the team is mature and collected enough to actually pull through past the anxiety associated with the World Cup and make some real progress.
