Washington Redskins

Washington Redskins: Preseason Analysis

The main thing on the minds of Washington Redskins fans is when and how are they going to fill in the big gap that was created with Lavar Arrington left the team. Since Lavar Arrington left the Redskins, there has really been no one good picked up to replace him.

The Redskins did pick up a great find in the free agency however. Antwan Randel El, the wide receiver that played with the Pittsburgh Steelers last year, is a great addition to the Washington Redskins. Veteran quarterback Mark Brunell must have done a little dance when he heard the team signed Randel El. The Redskins have been lacking an outstanding wide receiver for the past few years and will Brunell will do a lot better with someone like Randel El catching his passes.

In addition to Randel El adding to the offense, fans will be looking for Clinton Portis to return in the running back position for his second season with the Redskins. He really excelled last season and will likely carry a big load for the team this year as well. Clinton Portis’s game breaking speed and dependable and consistent nature will carry him far in the NFL overall.

With a Hall of Fame coach, Joe Gibbs, the Redskins certainly cannot say they don’t have the resources they need to be a winning team. However, they are not likely to be able to fair well in what may be the toughest division this season. The Giants, Cowboys, and Steelers are looking pretty good and Washington will have to really step it up to be a contender.
