New York Giants: Preseason Analysis

The New York Giants did well during the offseason by picking up what was likely the best free agent out there. Linebacker Lavar Arrington joins the New York Giants, coming from the Washington Redskins and is expected to tighten up the defense. In fact, with Michael Strahan and Lavar Arrington working together with the one-two punch combo, the Giants’ defense should look stronger than ever.

On the offensive side of things, Eli Manning is likely excited to be passing to wide receiver Plaxico Burress and tight end Jeremy Shockey. With talented guys down the field, Manning will only look better than ever. Another good thing for the New York Giants is the fact that veteran star Tiki Barber has gotten his bad habit of fumbling under control. Barber has always been a fan favorite, but Barber was also seen as one of the worst in fumbling. Last year he had nearly perfect handling however, which brings hope to the Giants. Hopefully it wasn’t just a lucky year for Tiki and actually a skillful change in his game.

Overall, the New York Giants will do well this season as long as Eli Manning can keep his head together and lead the charge. If not, they will likely crumble from the lack of leadership. With such talented players on the New York Giants team and a strong defense and offense, there is no excuse for this team to miss the playoffs.
