New Orleans SaintsNew Orleans Saints: Preseason Analysis Last season was a rough one for the New Orleans Saints. Due to Hurricane Katrina they did not even have a stadium to call “home”. This season they have a home and can feel confident that they will be able to stay focused and play to their maximum potential, without having to worry about natural disasters. One of their big moves during the off season was picking up Michael Bennett from Minnesota. This running back was a star in Minnesota and will likely add a lot to the Saints as well. However, he does have a tendency of getting injured easily, so he will need to take it easy. The team also picked up the most talented draft pick, Reggie Bush, a running back out of USC. With Bennett, Bush, and Deuce McAllister on the back field, the New Orleans Saints might be unstoppable. For their offense, the Saints picked up Drew Brees as their quarterback, which is a good sign. Brees came from San Diego and will likely help the Saints a lot. Brees has a good team of wide receivers to work with as well. Joe Horn will likely be the team leader in receptions and touchdowns and is a worthy player all around. In addition, Donte Stallworth is also a standup player who is an excellent third and short receiver. Although the team should do well, it might be hard for them to make the playoffs because they are in a difficult division. They will likely finish second in their division, behind the Panthers. |
