Greenbay PackersGreen Bay Packers: Preseason Analysis After hyped speculation that Brett Favre might not return to the Green Bay Packers this season, the fans are likely excited to know that he indeed will return. For several years Favre has caused a stir at the end of the year by leading everyone to believe he will retire. However, he has not yet done so. Favre is likely waiting to leave on a good note and with the disappointing season Green Bay had last year, there is no way he likely wanted to go out like that. Many of the fans hope his season will be better this year however, as last year he had 29 interceptions. The Packers’ backup quarterback Aaron Rogers will likely see more playing time this season as well because rumors are that Brett Favre is certainly going to retire after this season. The team will want to groom Aaron Rogers a bit so he will be prepared to fill Favre’s shoes. The Packers did pick up AJ Hawk from the draft this year. Hawk comes out of Ohio State and is a great linebacker that can be rotated from strong side, to weak side, to nickel, with no problem at all. In addition, the team is looking at Samkon Gado to really shine as the starting running back this season. He had a great year last season filling in for Ahman Green and now that Green has been traded, Gado will have to carry the whole load himself. Although most people want a winning season for Favre, it is unlikely the Packers will fair much better than they did last season, which was not good at all. |
