2006 Preseason Analysis Tennessee Titans: What To ExpectThe Tennessee Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher has one of the longest careers in NFL coaching. He is now entering into his 12th season at Tennessee, which is almost unheard of in NFL history. Jeff Fisher really thinks his team has what it takes to be a threat this year, but experts are not so quick to agree with Coach Fisher on the matter. Experts think that Tennessee has more work than ever this year with Steve McNair leaving the team. McNair was a part of the draft of great quarterbacks and is likely the best out of the draft group in the late 90s. He is an incredibly talented player and has the maturity to really bring a lot to a team. Now Tennessee is without his influence, and experts think it could shake the team more than Fisher thinks. As Steve McNair cleared out his locker for his move, the Titans brought in Vince Young in the draft. Although Billy Volek is likely going to be their starting quarterback, Young is a player that could quickly take over the starting position. So, Volek will have to really bring it 100% for every game to hold his starting position. The Titans really did their work during the off season and also drafted running back Lendale White. Although he is a rookie, you can expect to see a lot of him during his first year. The real test will be if he can handle the intensity of the NFL in such large starting amounts. |
