Titans Still Courting Vince Young

Vince Young was the Tennessee Titans’ top draft choice. However, he is not yet signed to the team. The negotiations are not expected to be difficult by any means. They are beginning July 20th and hopefully will be over in a day or so.

Of course, one never knows how things will go in negotiations. The team is confident the signing will happen, but they are a little unsure of how quickly they can get it done. As long as they can get a contract signed before July 28th, the Titans’ first practice, things will be pleasant for the team and for Young.

The interesting thing is that Young is using a negotiator that has never worked with a major NFL deal as of yet. So, in a since, he is taking a huge chance by using an inexperienced negotiator for what could be one of the biggest contract deals in the NFL this year.

The negotiator, Adams, is using the contracts of previous stars as a guide to develop a contract specifically created for Vince Young. He states he will make sure Young’s talents are tended to in the contract. With Vince Young being the first quarterback chosen in the NFL Draft this year, it is important that he get a good deal.

Of course, it should be noted that the Tennessee Titans have only missed out on signing their big draft choice twice in history. They are well equipped to bring Vince Young to the team in a more official manner. With Young having a history of passing and rushing for more than 200 points in his pre-NFL career history, it is likely the Titans will do whatever it takes to make him happy.
