2006 Preseason Analysis Jacksonville Jaguars: What To ExpectAnother one of the teams that are just not showing anything fantastic or anything horrible is the Jacksonville Jaguars team. They are led by Head Coach Jack Del Rio, who is entering his 3rd season with the Jacksonville Jaguars this year. The issue Jack Del Rio has likely been having with this team is that the talent is there within the team. There are talented players who should be able to perform. However, when push comes to shove, they don’t perform. They just can’t get it together enough to get the wins they need. Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Byron Leftwich is looking forward to being back on the field after a knee injury that sidelined him last season. He should be coming forth with great energy and attitude and be able to get the team excited about playing again. As far as the rest of the offense goes, if they can stay healthy, they will likely be fine. Running back Fred Taylor has to work hard to maintain his health, since Jimmy Smith has retired. His load will be greater than it was last year and he will need to be on top of his game to maintain it. Taylor has it in him and is quite a star running back. However, he has had several knee injuries over the years that could really affect his game overall. The main problem will be filling in that spot that Jimmy Smith left down the field. Byron Leftwich is certainly in need to someone consistent to pass to and the team may not have someone ready to fill the big shoes of Smith. |
