2006 Preseason Analysis Indianapolis Colts: What To ExpectWith Head Coach Tony Dungy back for his 6th season with the Indianapolis Colts, the team is looking better than ever before. Although Dungy had a rough ending to last season, with his son committing suicide, he will likely be more focused this season. He is a great and well respected coach that can really create great players. His record of making Pro Bowl players and playoff teams is to be admired and will be expected season after season. He has a special talent of being likeable and everyone from fans to other coaches love this guy! Quarterback Peyton Manning will be back in the leadership position this season for the Indianapolis Colts. Manning is a quarterback that rarely disappoints and is likely one of the best in the NFL to date. The reason most people think Manning is so great is because he is very disciplined. He studies the game constantly, which only makes him better. His big dream, a Super Bowl win, might be attainable this season for sure. Wide receivers Marvin Harrison, Brandon Stokely, and Reggie Wayne will all likely have a great year this season. With Peyton Manning throwing to them, they always look great. In contrast, with them being down the field, Manning’s job is much easier as well. So, with that type of chemistry, there is nothing this offense can’t do. One of the team’s biggest plays this off season was adding kicker Adam Vinatieri, from the New England Patriots. Adam Vinatieri has quite a reputation as being a great kicker in the NFL. In fact, he helped the Patriots win two Super Bowls with his successful last minute kicks. So, the Indianapolis Colts are looking forward to utilizing his talents when needed. |
