AFC Teams
Looking Ahead With The AFCWhile the NFC has managed to steal the AFC’s thunder for a while, this season promises to be different for the American Football Conference. Taking a look at the line up and remembering last season’s highlights, it is no wonder that more and more television sets will be tuned in when these teams play. The AFC East hosts the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Jets, and Buffalo Bills. The latter is the team to keep your eyes on since they have geared their training camp to be a competition and showcase of individual talents. Take for example the wide receiver which is a coveted position by Andre Davis, Peerless Price, and Josh Reed. They will be expected to not only support each other during games, but compete against each other during training camp. Who will be on the roster? The AFC North has the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, and of course the Pittsburgh Steelers, the reigning Super Bowl champs who beat out the Seahawks last year in a spectacular game. The AFC South is home to the Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts. The Colts may have an uphill battle this year with linebacker Cato June’s legal trouble and the departure of running back Edgerrin James. Last but not least is the AFC West which contains the San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos. The latter are an amazing team to watch, and fans are not quite sure if it is Coach Mike Shanahan’s ability to turn straw into gold, or the straw handed to him by the likes of Todd Sauerbrun who is in trouble for testing positive for ephedra, or quarterback Jake Plummer whose trouble with the law comes from a road rage incident. No matter what is going on off the field, Shanahan seems to be able to turn around any disadvantage and inspire his players no matter what. What a team! |
