2006 Preseason Analysis Cleveland Browns: What To ExpectWhen Head Coach Romeo Crennel came to the Cleveland Browns team, he meant business. This is Crennel’s 2nd year with the Cleveland Browns and he has been quite busy preparing for it in the off season. Crennel is the Defensive expert that helped the Patriots win their three Super Bowl trophies. So, the Cleveland Browns are really counting on him to help them as well. One thing Crennel wanted to do in the off season was acquire new talent. He and his team made a lot of head way in the free agency market this year. The team signed many great players, including LeCharles Bentley who is one of the best offensive linemen in the sport. He can be moved around the line and still perform at his best in any place. Another great acquisition for the Cleveland Browns team was running back Reuben Droughns. He came from the Broncos and should be able to help the team be better rounded overall. In addition, the Browns also signed on wide receiver Joe Jurevicius from Seattle who played in three Super Bowls. Willie McGinest, a line backer from the Patriots, was also a great addition. McGinest comes from the Super Bowl winning Patriots team and played under Romeo Crennel already. So, that relationship is strong and it will likely show through. The only shocker during the off season is that the Browns didn’t choose a more experienced quarterback to replace Charlie Frye who has only played in a total of six NFL games. |
