Parker Feeling 100% Ready as Spurs Begin Camp

Spurs guard Tony Parker asserted he has 100% recovered from the finger he broke last month while preparing for the FIBA World Championship. Before leaving with the Spurs for 10 days of training camp in France, his home country, Parker had his right index finger X-rayed. Following the exam he has been declared totally healed and the bone is back to normal. The doctors allowed him to practice normally.

Parker broke his finger in a tune-up game against Brazil in August. But doctors said he did not require surgery. Everybody has waited on the diagnosis of Parker's finger since the Spurs look to move past their Game 7 overtime loss to the Mavericks in the Western Conference semifinals last season and toward a rematch at Dallas in their season opener in November.

The team made numerous changes this summer. It includes trading center Rasho Nesterovic and cash to the Toronto Raptors for forwards Matt Bonner and Eric Williams. The team also signed signing two centers, Francisco Elson and Jackie Butler, after their top two centers departed. Nazr Mohammed signed with Detroit as a free agent. Duncan, who has also had his share of health problems, being hobbled by fasciitis on his right foot, also said he's 100 % ready.

The Spurs first preseason game is Thursday in Lyon-Villeurbanne in France. As for the team's first home game during the regular season it will take place on Nov. 3 against Cleveland at the AT&T Center.
