Texas Rangers

The Texas Rangers are in a dog fight right now for first place in the American League West division. Even though this division is not one of the better ones in baseball, the Rangers are still fighting to make their way into the play offs. It is safe to say that if the Rangers do not win the division they are not going to get a wildcard bid. There are simply too many other good teams with far better records.

At this time the Rangers are chasing the A’s and the Angels, and are only one game back of both. So at anytime the Rangers are ready to take over and try to hold on until the season ends. But unfortunately for them, this is never as easy as it may seem.

If the Rangers are to continue their strong play during the second half of the season they are going to have to rely on the front of their pitching rotation. Players like Kevin Millwood and Juan Padila have been strong thus far, and if they can keep the pace down the stretch the Rangers have a great chance at winning the West division.

Like a lot of teams, the Rangers may be looking to add a pitcher before the trade deadline. If they could sure up their rotation a bit they would have a very good chance of winning more games down the stretch. A good starting pitcher may be the key to the Rangers winning the division instead of coming in second or third place.
